Sowing calendar vegetable garden
Every year in spring, the garden calls - for enjoyment and sowing. Our sowing calendar tells you when which vegetables are best sown and harvested. This way, you can optimally use the vegetable beds throughout the entire year.
What else should be considered when growing vegetables?
To ensure that your vegetables are juicy and crisp, you should vary the varieties grown in the same spot and consider the different nutrient requirements from the soil. So, you start in the first year with vegetable varieties that have a high nutrient demand. These include, for example, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, pumpkins, types of cabbage, and cucumbers. In the following year, carrots and fennel are very suitable. In the third year, the soil is already depleted, so it is best to plant, for example, the undemanding onions or radishes. The need for fertilizer and compost also varies with the vegetable varieties grown.
After three years, it is advisable to let the soil rest for one season so that the nutrient content can recover and the cycle can be restarted.
