What is the MiyoCube openHAB Binding?


openHAB (Open Home Automation Bus) is an open-source platform for smart home and building automation that works independently of manufacturers and technologies. With the MiyoCube openHAB Binding, you can easily integrate your MIYO smart irrigation system into openHAB – your local, open smart home control platform.

This allows you to control and automate irrigation, sensors, and valves directly in openHAB – locally, flexibly, and without reliance on the cloud.

What can the Miyo openHAB Binding do?

With our MIYO Cube Binding for openHAB, you can use the most important information and functions of your irrigation system directly in openHAB. These include:

  • Display of the status of all sensors (e.g., soil moisture)
  • Display of the status of your valves
  • Starting manual irrigations directly from openHAB

This way, you can seamlessly integrate your garden into your existing smart home automation.

Installation via the Community Marketplace

The easiest way to install the binding is through the Community Marketplace - directly in your openHAB.

Manual Installation

Alternatively, the integration can also be installed manually. For this, you can find the latest release as a .jar file in our GitHub repository, or advanced users can compile the source code themselves.

Create a new thing for the Miyo Binding.

Enter the IP address of your MIYO Cube and press the hardware button on the Cube.

Go back to the selection of Things for the Miyo Binding. Perform a scan. The devices connected to the Cube will be found automatically and can be added.
