MIYO soil moisture sensor L-S2 (LoRaWAN®)

The MIYO Sensor L2 is a solar-charged capacitive soil moisture sensor. It measures soil moisture in the root zone (approx. 10 cm deep), as well as temperature and brightness. For extensive installations where Cube wireless range (approx. 200 m) is insufficient—usable via the MIYO LoRaWAN network and MIYO App or your own LoRaWAN infrastructure. Solar-charged, range of up to approx. 10 km, LoRaWAN 1.0.4.

Soil moisture measurement with solar charging

The MIYO Sensor L-S2 is a capacitive soil moisture sensor that measures soil moisture at the center of a garden's root zone, i.e. at a depth of approx. 10 cm. Thanks to its capacitive measurement technology, the Sensor is durable and wear-free. The integrated solar panel ensures the power supply. Communication is wireless, based on LoRa® wireless technology in accordance with the LoRaWAN® Standard 1.0.4.

Bought Miyo for my parents' garden to make gardening easier for them. I wasn't quite sure if my parents would get along with the technology. We then installed and set it up together, and it works wonderfully. The best part is that now 4 people can see the garden on their phones and make necessary adjustments. Clever, thoroughly thought-out system to the very end

Especially with regard to saving water, I think this is a clever idea. This year I also put a second irrigation circuit into operation; our carport roof has a bit too little substrate, so everything used to dry out there.
