Devices
The MIYO system consists of a few core components. Depending on the series (Cube or LoRaWAN), the central unit or wireless network differs – however, Sensors and Valves serve the same purpose: measuring and watering.

Sensors and Valves are solar-powered and connected wirelessly. No battery changes or wiring in the garden are required.
MIYO Cube
The Cube is the brain of the Cube series. It controls irrigation, retrieves weather data, stores history and statistics, and connects the system to the app and smart home interfaces.
Functions:
- Internet connection for weather forecasts and remote access
- Control of irrigation according to the selected settings
- Data storage for statistics and history
- Connection to smart home systems (API, Home Assistant, Homey, openHAB, IFTTT)
Requirements:
- LAN connection with Internet access
- 230 V power outlet
Technical information:
- Wireless range of the Cube series outdoors: approx. 100–200 m (obstacles may reduce the range)
- Frequency bands: 863–870 MHz (EU, Asia, Africa) and 902–928 MHz (USA, Canada, Central and South America)
Devices in the Cube series require a physical Cube.
Soil moisture Sensor
The Sensor is a capacitive soil moisture Sensor. It measures moisture in the root zone (typically at a depth of approx. 10 cm) and also provides temperature and brightness/sunlight intensity readings.

- Soil moisture
- Temperature
- Brightness / sunlight intensity

- Solar charging with an integrated battery – no battery changes

- Requirement for intelligent MIYO mode

- LoRaWAN series range: up to approx. 10 km
Valves
Valves control the water flow of an irrigation circuit. They are controlled by the Cube or via the LoRaWAN gateway and are solar-powered.
Irrigation methods (depending on the settings):
- Manually at the Valve (magnet)
- Manually via the app
- Fixed time windows (like an irrigation controller)
- Time windows adjusted according to evapotranspiration
- MIYO mode: automatically based on soil moisture, weather forecasts, and garden settings
- Additional programs via the smart home API

- Flow rate: approx. 20 l/min at 3 bar
- Standard connections, compatible with common hose systems
Multiple Valves can be used in one irrigation area (per Sensor). A Valve can also be operated without a Sensor (e.g., purely time-controlled).
